SUSIE WITTE
Special Events Sales, and The Ballroom at Carlos Center and
Informa U.S. Boat Shows Sales Manager

POP:  Thanks for taking time today to chat with us today Susie! For starters, what’s the one piece of advice you would share with others at the beginning of their career?
SUSIE:  Listen first, and then respond. Us Millennials tend to think we know everything there is to know out of school and starting in our career…which is not the case.

POP:  What values have shaped your life?
SUSIE:  Strong relationships with friends and family. Honesty, integrity and doing my best to admit and grow from my mistakes.

POP:  What was your favorite meal as a kid growing up?
SUSIE:  Crunchy peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches with classic potato chips.

POP:  Who has influenced you the most (in life and/or your career)?
SUSIE:  I am very lucky to have/had SO many “Consultants” that have influenced me. One of the biggest is Mercedes Miller, Executive Director of the GICC and Gateway Center Arena. She helped me so much with the move to sales and understanding the corporate atmosphere. She’s always there to give real advice and never holds it against the person asking. She has accomplished so much and is just a humbled and outstanding boss and person.

POP:  What is your favorite song lyric or inspirational quote?
SUSIE:  This is tough as I am a huge fan of all types of music!! But with the current times, I would have to say it comes from Float On by Modest Mouse:  “Bad news comes, don’t worry the way it lands. Good news will work its way to all them plans.”

POP:  What are some things that people would be surprised to learn about you?
SUSIE:  I HATE bacon!
