Proof of the Pudding recently celebrated a milestone—45 years of culinary excellence—with a heartfelt reunion honoring the original team members who helped lay the foundation for what Proof has become today. The event, a collaborative effort between Proof founder Kay Goldstein, retail manager Stephany Kackloudis, and long-time team member Vagn Nielsen, brought together some of the company’s earliest employees for a nostalgic and celebratory gathering.
Attendees included Tom Harvey, Proof’s first manager; Margaret Ann Suber, the company’s first chef; Mark Arnold, an early retail team member; and Catherine Thornhill, former accounting manager, all of whom are just a few of the many who played an integral role in shaping Proof’s legacy. The event was an opportunity to recognize their contributions, reflect on the company’s journey, and showcase how their hard work and dedication helped Proof flourish into a nationally recognized catering powerhouse.
Guests were immersed in Proof’s history with a special display of artifacts from its early years, including the first Chastain Picnic Box, the original Proof apron, laminated copies of early recipes, and even the very first dollar the company earned—presented by Kay Goldstein to CEO Adam Noyes at the close of the event. Stories and memories flowed as attendees reminisced about the company’s humble beginnings, from creating the logo on a paper napkin to the first major events that set the stage for Proof’s growth.
Of course, no Proof celebration would be complete without great food. Some of the company’s earliest signature dishes were recreated for the occasion, with a special highlight being the beloved Proof brownie. As the original creator of the recipe, Margaret Ann Suber gave her enthusiastic approval after tasting the nostalgic treat.
The event concluded with a tour of Proof’s current operations, leaving many of the original team members in awe of how the company has evolved. CEO Adam Noyes expressed gratitude for the strong foundation they helped build and shared a glimpse of what’s next for Proof. While much has changed over the years, one thing remains the same: Proof’s commitment to creative, high-quality food, exceptional service, and a workplace that fosters growth and innovation.
It was a day filled with laughter, storytelling, and rekindled friendships—proof that the company’s legacy is built not just on great food, but on great people.
