In September 2024, The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, was transformed into a hub of southern charm and heartfelt tributes as friends, family, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate a monumental occasion: President Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday, in advance of his actual birthday on October 1. With over 280 guests in attendance, the event honored a beloved former president while showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Georgia, reflecting President Carter’s roots and his cherished memories with his wife, Rosalynn Carter.

A Menu of Meaningful Tribute
The culinary offerings paid homage to President Carter’s legacy, highlighted by southern favorites and the recreation of Rosalynn’s Strawberry Cake, presented as Mini Bundt Cakes placed at the entrance for guests to take home as memorable favors. Additionally, a stunning butterfly garden was created out of assorted French macarons, symbolizing the beauty and vibrancy of Rosalynn Carter’s spirit and her love for nature. These thoughtful gestures seamlessly blended personal history with celebration.
